Laurent Segretier

As a French artist and photographer based in Hong Kong, Laurent Segretier is a master at connecting with anyone in front of his camera.  Segretier's intimate approach to photography has made him a favorite at high fashion brands like Hermes, Gucci, and Burberry, and street brands like Vetements and Nike, where he can be found backstage, on-set, or even at the afterparty.

His experience as a practicing artist with solo exhibitions in galleries around Hong Kong and internationally, and at Art Basel, enables Segretier to bridge together art and commerce in his work. The duality of his images are inspired not only by daily life, but also by the spectacle of life as the world's greatest theater. Using life as a set also makes his work reminiscent of photos by Martin Parr and Wolfgang Tillmans. The authenticity Segretier brings to every shoot is also used when translating a client's creative ideas into images-- his photos have a visual intensity that captures the energy of the people being shot. With a personal approach to life that’s intertwined with his contemporary photography practice, Segretier’s style emits precision and irresistible charm as if his favorite early electronic Japanese cameras were fused with German engineering.

Segretier has worked with brands like Hermes, Ferragamo, Vetements, Proenza Schouler, Burberry, Puma, Nike, VLONE; featured in publications like LEAP, Financial Times, AnOther, Vogue China, Dazed and Confused, and Fucking Young. He has also has exhibited and participated in Electric Spring at Huddersfield University, xCoAx in Glasglow University, Digital Art Museum in Mexico, and Joyce Gallery in Paris.
